But we perservered to bring you a Vetrazzo project that is as sustainable as it is beatiful. (You're going to want to move right in just for the roof deck alone.)

Vetrazzo has always brought impact to a space with color and movement in its handcrafted recycled glass countertops. But now, thanks to an innovation in finishing, our crushed glass slabs are adding a tactile dimension to kitchen and bath design.

It all started when a member of the Vetrazzo team took inspiration from the textures of natural stone from our sister brand Polycor, a natural stone quarrier, where antiqued finishes (also known as leathered or antiqued finishes) are a bestseller.

It doesn't matter if they're in Naples, Florida or Detroit, Michigan, when the temperature hovers at that delightful 80 degree mark, homeowners want to get out of the house and into outdoor living.

There’s a beach getaway with a design that’s stunning both for what it incorporates and what it omits. When designer Stephanie Rothbauer envisioned the total home renovation, which started off as just a bathroom (don’t they all), she turned to her surroundings for inspiration.

Like a blue water beach vacation, the appeal of the coastal kitchen endures through seasons and trends. But we all know a few beachy kitchens that we’d like to forget (hello shellacked seashells and driftwood art) that were more tourist t-shirt shop than tranquil retreat.

You want your beach inspired kitchen to be everything that is day at the beach - light, warmth, fresh air and a cool splash of color. More homage to the sea than a picture of it. Let's take a look at three classic coastal designs that bring a breeze of summer without the fisherman’s net and starfish appliques.

Bright and bold reds, deep, powerful blues and greens, that add energy to spaces. But really, that’s a pixel of our spectrum. We’re also calming aquas and subtle neutrals, ethereal purples and masculine browns.

And isn’t that just like you as a designer? You’re more than a signature color or trademark look.

The miracles of science have unleashed an unearthly barrage of product compositions. These include chemical-filled counters, cabinets, carpets, paint and cleaning products. And it’s ironic that in many homes these materials are the same surfaces that families are preparing and consuming their organic veggies, meats and fish on. People are making healthier food choices and asking more questions about the products they bring into their homes. But, can we influence choice beyond the fridge?

Historic may not be the first word that comes to mind when you think of Florida homes. Up until the last 80 years, the sunshine state was still virtually an untouched jungle with predominantly dirt roads and little in the way of notable architecture like that found in other southern states such as Georgia and South Carolina. And compared to areas north of the Mason Dixon line like New York and Massachusetts, Florida might as well be considered an uninhabited island. But St. Augustine aside, Florida still has some hidden history tucked away in the palm trees that adds to its coastal character.

Over the years Vetrazzo has enjoyed a successful track record of being featured in many commercial projects, due in large part to its immediate visual appeal but also in that it carries a specific message of being an environmentally friendly product produced in a socially responsible manner. Its versatility makes it suitable to a variety of design styles, especially within the educational, retail, institutional and hospitality sectors.
